Street Scene in Spain

I love all the outdoor eating areas in Madrid.  It gives the people a chance to get out and socialize while enjoying the weather and good food.

Thoughtful Evening

I wanted to try something different for a change.  I love plein air painting in oils, but it was fun to do some watercolors.  I think our brains like a shift every once in awhile.  I think that is why I like to play Mah Jongg also.  It is kind of like using your left hand when you are right handed.

I enjoyed painting this model and plan to do more of it in the future.

City View

                                                                     9" x 12"  />
This is a view from the popular Hike and Bike path on Lady Bird Lake. I am looking towards the Four Seasons Hotel. I like the combination of the nature against the architectural elements. It is so great to be able to enjoy such lovely scenery so close to downtown.  We have often walked the trail and then walked over to 2nd Street for coffee.  A perfect morning in my book.

The Ranch House

8" x 10" sold> A group of artist meet often at one of our fellow artist's ranch close to Austin.  It is a delightful place to spend the day painting plain air. This is the guest house on the property.

Sheep at Mission Ranch

This painting was juried into the Outdoor Painters Society show to be held in Dallas at Southwest Gallery. The show will open April 7th. If you are in the Dallas area, it would be worth your time to drop by. There are a lot of great plein air pieces.

Bon Chat

This painting is from a photo I took in the small French village of Chevieu. We were invited to paint in the beautiful garden of one of the local families. This little girl lives across the street. She and her mother came over to visit, and the little girl was very drawn to the kitten. She was so gentle petting it. You can just see the contentment in the cat's eyes.

The Proposal

My daughter recently became engaged. Her fiancé hid the ring in a plastic Easter egg and left it in some tall grass close to where he was fishing at his parent's fishing camp in El Campo. Since it was the day before Easter, she thought maybe it was one left over from last year. When she picked it up, he went down on one knees and she knew she had found a very special egg. My husband and I had been given a heads up and were there to help celebrate along with his parents and sister. Of course, I had to take lots of photos. They are using the painting for their "Save the Date".
